She started playing squash when she was six years old because her father did. After work he would pick her up from school and drive Chantal and her sister Margaux with him to the squash club.
Coaching began with Jose Jurado, then others including Egyptian Nasser Tawfik at Castellon Club, and Ian Corbett and Angel Martinez at Peri Sports Club.
As a junior she won all the Spanish nationals championships at every age level, and many European Junior Circuit events. Chantal also achieved European number one junior ranking at various ages.
She played for Spain at the European juniors three times, and in the World Juniors in Cairo in 2003. More recently she played in the senior team in the Europeans 2006 in Vienna.
Currently she is studying sport science at Valencia University and is looking forward to moving to Netherlands to train in 2007.
Away from the court Chantal likes spending time with friends, travelling, listening to music. She is also very into cars and motorbikes!
